How to Turn Off ESET?


Usually, the ESET security program works perfectly on your device to provide great security features. However, in some situations, you might face issues in installing any programs, accessing any website, or seeing some issues. With the help of the two methods below, you can quickly disable the ESET program. Follow these procedures to see if you are unable to do that. 


From System Tray


  • Select the Show Hidden Icons arrow on the system tray.

  • Then, you should right-click the ESET antivirus program and click Pause Protection.

  • Next, In the new pop-up prompt, click the drop-down and select how long you want to disable.

  • When you’ve selected the duration, click Apply.

  • If you get the User Account Control prompt, click Yes.

  • The antivirus program will be enabled automatically after the selected duration is over.

  • Now, confirm that the ESET security program is disabled on your device. 


From the Program


  • First of all, launch the ESET antivirus program

  • Then head to Setup and select Computer Protection.

  • Next, you are required to click on the Pause Antivirus and Antispyware Protection option. 

  • Choose the duration from the drop-down menu in the Disable Antivirus and Antispyware Protection prompt.

  • Then, you should click on Apply. 

  • Choose Yes in the User Account Control window.

  • After that, a notification will be displayed on the bottom right side of the screen after the program is disabled.

  • Finally, confirm if the ESET security program is still working on your device.
